Here’s a quick look at what’s new in Twin 2: Three full-featured oscillators instead of two. FabFilter One is a new virtual synth for the PC that offers basic monosynth functionality, but does it exceptionally well. Its unique vintage filters and creative effects make it an excellent delay plugin for home studios. It’s a vintage-style tape delay plugin used by pros around the world.

For example, the portamento feature doesn’t just slide from one note to another, but uses a carefully selected algorithm to make your playing more lively and give it just that little extra bit of magic. FabFilter has recently released Twin 2, the successor to Twin, a versatile and powerful synthesizer plug-in for Windows and Mac. Fabfilter Timeless is one of the most popular delay VST plugins in the audio recording world. What FabFilter One excels at is the attention to detail and fine-tuning that is visible throughout the plug-in. Also, it has an additional Hold setting that extends the time keys are held down. The EG has the usual ADSR knobs, but with a perfectly fine-tuned feel. The tempo can be synchronized to the host. The LFO offers triangle and square wave forms, with adjustable wave balance so any wave form between sawtooth and triangle can be selected. FabFilters Saturn was one of 2012s most celebrated plug-ins, offering multi-band distortion and saturation, along with a sleek GUI. The oscillator and the filter can be modulated by the LFO and the EG. It features sawtooth, triangle, and square wave forms with pulse width modulation. The filter is fed by an equally high-quality solid-sounding oscillator, developed from scratch to be completely aliasing-free.

FabFilter One’s filter sounds raw but never cheap or ‘digital’, even at full resonance. It has been tuned carefully to achieve the character and warmth of a classic analog synthesizer.

There is. Its new design approach has resulted in the fattest and smoothest self-oscillating digital filter you have ever heard. The frequency spectrum of the processed audio signal is superimposed on the EQ and decay curves, so you have a visual cue as you work. Both useful.FabFilter One put tremendous effort in creating the best cut-off filter ever. Anyway, it is like clay sculpture and using a trowel or a knife.

The shape of the range walls in Pro MB is the key for me in mastering (not like I have monitors and decent room lol/sob). ProQ3 feels right to use on sounds that more or less occupy their own secured range of the frequency spectrum while Pro MB is crowd control for when all frequencies are more or less present and mostly nudged to show general focus.

Yah, for me Pro MB and Pro Q3 are both doing very much the same thing in a way (I guess I would call it frequency levels adjustment) but the difference between the two that keeps them both valid for me is simply in the shape of the sculpting tools. With Pro Q3 I have little want of plain old C.ĭon't you mean you have little want of Pro MB? Isn't Doesn't Pro Q3's dynamic EQ basically let you achieve the same thing as multiband compression? Pro C for individual sounds, Pro MB for mixed sounds (to adjust balance) but Dynamic EQ can achieve a similar thing for you already with Pro Q3.first and last in my chain though is generally Pro L, it means I can push the sound when jamming knowing I'm not going to go beyond the level I want.
